It's Not Easy Being Green

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! I wish I had tales of frolicking the city in a green outfit while drinking green beers to share with you, but all I did this weekend was catch up on Teen Mom. Don't be mistaken, though, that doesn't mean I don't love celebrating with all things green! It just means I don't have any friends.

Green beans. Without a doubt, these are my favorite vegetables. Raw, boiled, sauteed, steamed. I don't care, I'll eat them. I like them with butter, garlic, teriyaki sauce, and even in their birthday suit. Just gimme those beans!

My green pencil skirt. I have a kelly green pencil skirt that I absolutely can't get enough of. I've been waiting all year to wear it to work for St. Patty's Day! Not that I don't wear it all the time, but today it has a purpose. If only I had this perfect blouse to go with it.

Starbucks green tea latte. Yummmm, love these! Unfortunately I'll only be enjoying this in my mind today, since I live in the middle of nowhere and far away from a Starbucks. The horror.

This manicure, which I wish I had thought about replicating it before painting my nails pink and grey on Saturday. Damnit, Amanda, you really dropped the ball on that one! But seriously, could it be more perfect for the holiday? Maybe next year...

Shamrock Shakes. If you grew up in a part of the country where you didn't spend every single year anticipating this bad boy, then I seriously feel bad for you. The first day of Shamrock Shake season is practically a holiday in itself here in North Western PA. You can bet your bottom dollar I'll be celebrating with one of these today. And every day until they're gone...

And one last thing, I wanted to leave you with this gem of a quote from my baby sister:

Me: Did you know that Monday is St. Patrick's Day?
Anneliese (age four): Yes, but when is St. Spongebob's day?

  1. Confession: I've never had a shamrock shake... they always look so good but I always forget and then the holiday passes. I must add it to my bucket list (...what a sad pathetic bucket list ahaaha!)

  3. I think I need to start trying more green things. I think maybe it's from my childhood that I think green foods are bad for you lol

And I love the things kids say! My niece is four and that absolutely sounds like something she would come up with!

    Happy St. Spongebobs Day!

  4. I've never had a Shamrock Shake either! And I always mean to but I forget about them until someone reminds me, and it's always at a point where I'm feeling too lazy to go get one hah. But I have to agree with you on the rest, and that green nail polish is PERFECT for St. Paddy's Day!

  7. Okay now I am dying for a Kelly green pencil skirt... so cute!! I wasn't able to dress up for St. Patrick's Day this year because none of my cute green clothes fit my current preggo self! So I had to settle for a green scarf... better than nothing, I guess!
