Better Late than Never

Last week when Erin announced round 3 of the Blogmopolitan link-up, I was so in. I mean, I love that ish. But trying to balance my blog and my boyfriend proved to be impossible. I really wanted to post last week, but my sweet boyfriend was visiting and when given the choice between cuddling with him and posting on my blog, he wins all day err-y day. Or at least every day until he doesn't live 600 miles away. Fair enough, right? But since he's gone now (as of Sunday night- cue all of the tears on the planet), I decided to get my butt in gear and fill out the Blogmopolitan quiz. Better late than never, right?!

What I used as my Real Housewives tagline is how my friend Chelsae described me to her mom- bahaha! I love it so much.

Summer Bucket List

It's almost Summer, but it sure doesn't feel that way around these parts. This will be my first summer out of college and with a grown-up job, and I gotta tell ya that working full time through the best part of the year does not sound fun to me. Who decided that adults need jobs? And why didn't I become a teacher?

But anyways, to try and get myself into the summer spirit I decided to link up with Erin and write myself a bucket list for this summer!

-Swim more than once

-Cook on the grill

-Wear all of my swimsuits

-Drink beer on a dock

-Go to the beach. A lot.

-Spend as much time outside as possible

-Drive with the windows down

-Have a picnic

-Buy more flip flops

-Discover the best local ice cream shop

-Go camping

-Go for a run lol

-Go to lots of fairs and festivals

-Attend a concert- it doesn't have to be good but it does have to be outdoors

-Brush up on my mini-golf skills

-Spend lots of time in my hammock

-Feel confident in my swimsuit

-Wear hot pink as often as possible

-Hug my boyfriend so tight his eyes pop out (Is it July yet?)

-Make a perfect piƱa colada

What's on your summer bucket list?

Confess Sesh

Vodka and Soda

I had a post ready for Monday about sexual assault and #yesallwomen, but I chickened out and didn't post it. I didn't post yesterday because I worked a 13 hour day and didn't even have the energy to find something in my drafts to post. I can't handle grown up life.

I was hoping to be really into this season of The Bachelorette, but to be honest I can't really stand Andi (even though she's my sister)

I've been searching everywhere for the perfect navy and white skirt... Why can you never find the clothes your looking for at the right time?

I wish I had more close friends

There is nothing that turns me off more than sweaty guys.

I absolutely cannot stand one of my best friend's girlfriend. I don't know what to do about it, and I feel like a really shitty friend.

My question form is still open

I want someone to plan a really amazing, bachelorette-style date. (It doesn't have to be that extravagant, but that well planned would be really meaningful)

I mean, is an ice castle really too much to ask?

I get really bent out of shape about bad customer service. How hard is to be polite?!

I'm watching The Bachelorette while I type this... That was probably blatantly obvious to anyone who watches the show. Haha!

These Are My Confessions

Oh hey, happy Wednesday! Today I'm linking up with Kathy, and I have a few confessions for you...

I let everyone at work yesterday believe I made the cookies that I actually bought at Walmart. Hey, no one asked so I wasn't going to correct them!

Ever since I started reading books on my iPhone I obsess over them and can't put them down. Like, sometimes I try to break it out at stop lights. That's pretty bad.

I normally prefer the taste of tap water over filtered water, as long as it's cold. I don't think anyone in my whole town drinks tap water, and it makes me cringe to see how many plastic bottles people waste around here.

I'm not sure if I get a bigger headache from wearing my glasses or from not wearing them. I should probably get my prescription checked, but my eye insurance only covers one visit every two years.

Whenever my work is paying for my lunch I always try to spend as close to my 11 allotted dollars as possible.

I already have names picked out for my future cats, and sometimes I doodle them during work meetings. Nope, I'm not crazy at all!

No one in my life knows about my blog except my boyfriend, and to the best of my knowledge he has never seen it. I plan on keeping it that way.

I have a secret that's so hard to keep I'm practically bursting, but I firmly believe in jinxing yourself so I'm afraid that if I tell too many people it won't actually happen. I've already told 5 people.

I am horrible about texting people and keeping in touch. It doesn't mean I don't care about you or miss you, it just means I have the attention span of a lab puppy and I forget what I'm doing exactly ten milliseconds after thinking to do it.

I could sleep for 12 hours every day and be perfectly content. I might even still need a nap.

Is there anything I didn't ask but you're dying to know? Click here to ask me!

Falling into Fall

Hi love buggies, this month I totally missed the Cara Box bus, and I was super sad so I set out in search of another fall swap because fall is my favorite thing ever. Well, I happened upon the Falling into Fall swap and I am so glad that I did!

My partner for the month was Kayla from It's Kayla Layla! I had so much fun getting to know her this month, and I absolutely adore her blog! She's so much fun and her blog definitely keeps me laughing. She sent me a really fun box of goodies that I can't wait to use!

-A fluffy pink heart pillow
-two pairs of super cute Halloween socks, which will be perfect with boots!
-really awesome orange and pink pens (my favorite colors)
-an adorable little pink picture frame
-a notebook that's already gotten a ton of use; my roommate and I decided to spend Sunday night drinking wine and playing mash. I can't wait to marry Ryan Gosling ;)
-An Apple Spice air freshener that I'm sure smells amazing! Unfortunately I haven't been able to open it yet because my roommate is allergic to cinnamon and I don't want to kill her (most of the time). I think I'll make Sam put it in his bathroom!
-Some pencil pouches that I had actually been eyeing last time I was at Target.
-And my favorite- an infinity scarf! I absolutely love it and I have the perfect outfit for it if it ever gets cold enough for boots around here.

To see what awesome presents I sent to Kayla head over to her blog. Happy Fall!

***Oh, and since we're talking about swapping, have you swapped buttons with me yet? I would love to have you on my sidebar :)

Two Weddings, One Weekend

This past weekend was a pretty exciting one, since I did spend it in two different states and all. Last week I was in Pennsylvania visiting my mommy because one of my very favorite friends was finally marrying the love of her life, and then I flew to North Carolina early Sunday morning so that I could see two more dear friends from college tie the knot!

I'm definitely gonna talk more about those two beautiful weddings, but first let me tell you about Friday., which means I have to tell you about Tuesday. On Tuesday I got a call from an agency in PA asking me if I could interview the next week. So I said "Is there anyway you could do it this week?" and on Friday I had an interview! I had to go out and buy a whole new outfit because I didn't pack any professional clothes, but I figured as long as I spent less than the cost of a plane ticket I was saving money! The job is exactly what I want to do with my life, but it's also in the place I just moved away from, and it's very low-paying. I haven't heard back yet, and I'm still a little up in the air about what I want to do anyways. So there's a chance you'll never hear about this job again. But it was still a big thing!

OKAY, and then Saturday came! I was so excited to see Amber get married. A & J started dating in 2007,  and they were supposed to get married a year ago, but then she went and got pregnant with an adorable little baby so they had to postpone until this year. To say they were ready to get married would definitely be an understatement!

They had a really cute outdoor wedding and it was perfect. It was exactly what Amber has always said she's wanted, and I am so glad she got her dream wedding.

And then Sunday! Sam and my friends, Jeff and Paige, got married. Sam was a groomsman, and everything about their day was just breathtaking.

They are one of those couple that are just made for each other. They are absolutely perfect for one another, and their wedding was absolutely perfect for them. After the beautiful outdoor ceremony, we headed to a cute little barn for the most beautiful reception I have ever been to. The food was delicious, the dancing was a ton of fun, and then we sent them off with a sparkler exit that nearly made me pee my pants. Have I ever mentioned I'm terrified of fire?

Anywhoodles, it was a beautiful day and I couldn't be happier for any of the newlyweds this weekend!

You're the One With the Accent!

Last week I read about this link-up with Munchkins and the Military and Not In Jersey. I immediately fell in love! The biggest thing that surprises me when I meet people for the first time is their voice, so I'm always interested in knowing what people sound like! On top of that, living in NC/SC but being from PA has made me really interested in accents. I mean, I obviously don't have one, but these southerners sure do talk weird ;)

Share Your Accent

For this link-up, what I did was I took this quiz and then I recorded myself reading the questions aloud so that you can hear what I sound like. Feel free to click the link and follow along so that you know what words I'm saying.

(For some reason it uploaded in two parts. We're just gonna roll with it)

I am the queen of awkward

And these were my results! They say Pennsylvania, so this is absolutely correct for me. I lived in Erie, PA for almost my entire life.

Oh, and I told you I don't have an accent. I can't wait to rub this in Sam's face show this to my boyfriend :)

Weekend Randoms

I really hate weekend recaps, but it's just what bloggers do on Mondays, right? Not to mention it's easy. Well, I decided my life is way too boring for that, so this week I made you a numbered list of random thoughts I had this weekend. And I think it was even easier :)

Sami's Shenanigans

1) A shower before bed and then crawling into fresh, clean sheets is the best feeling ever.

2) The only thing I miss about college is Einstein Brothers Bagels

3) I finished the book A Million Little Pieces; if you are interested in drug addiction or autobiographies then read it! It's one of the best books I've ever read.

4) If you see American Mary on Netflix, skip it. Weirdest movie ever.

5) I ran into my aunt and great aunt in the Detroit airport; they were on their way back from Japan and we were on the same flight into Erie! It was a really neat and unexpected surprise

6) I can handle screaming babies on an airplane, but constant shushing is likely to push me over the edge. It won't make your baby be quiet, either.

7) I am loving this fall weather in Pennsylvania. I hope fall gets to Charlotte ASAP!

8) If you ever get a chance to go to Nom Nom Burger, do it! It's this weird asian/hamburger fusion restaurant- think a casual version of CowFish- and it was delish! I got the terriyaki chicken sandwich, and they put it on a bun made of rice. I officially want to eat only rice buns! The only problem is you can't really pick it up...

9) Sometimes you'll find the best treasures at sketchy second hand stores, just bring a friend so you don't get murdered. (side note- I can't wait to pick up my new dresser!)

10) My favorite thing about fall is pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING! I know, sooo trendy, but I've always felt that way. I liked pumpkin before it was cool. #hipster

So, how was your weekend?

This or That?

I was about halfway though a post for today, but then I stumbled upon this link-up with I Wore Yoga Pants and Two Thirds Hazel, and it seemed a heck of a lot easier. So I guess you'll have to read about my thoughts on long distance relationships later!

Vacationing in Florida or vacationing in NYC: NYC! As much as I love palm trees and public drunkenness, I'm in love with New York City. Best vacation of my life, hands down. (and it just so happens that last year's FL vacation was the worst of my life, but I don't blame Florida for that)

iPhone or Droid: iPhone. You probably already know that I don't have a smart phone, but if I do ever jump aboard that train it's gonna be iPhone or nothin'.

NSYNC or Backstreet Boys: BSB always. It's not even a question for me. N'Sync had a few good jams, but the Backstreet Boys have my heart.

Being forced to delete Facebook or being forced to delete Twitter: Yikes, I don't know! Probably Twitter, because I use it strictly for blog purposes and don't actually know any of my twitter friends IRL. But I would surely be sad to see it go!

Fireball or Miller Lite: Firball! If this would have said Budlight instead of Miller it would have been a much harder question.

Full House or Family Matters: Full House without a doubt! I can't get enough of that show.

Dumbledore or Gandalf: If you had asked me this a year ago I would have said neither, but then Alex forced me to finally read the Harry Potter books and I became obsessed. LOTR, though? Hate it. And those I actually have read/watched.

Dying Easter eggs or Carving pumpkins: Pumpkins! Pumpkin season is my favorite in the world, and I've already been researching Pumpkin Patches for this year's Pumpkin Picking adventure.

Halloween 2011 :)
NFL or NCAAF: NFL! I am not into college ball at all. I just don't get the appeal, unless it's my Alma Mater and I have some a lot of purple beer.

A hangover forever or sobriety forever: Sobriety. I would never want a hangover. I've only had a few in my lifetime, but I was one miserable bee-otch.

January or July: July! Gimme some of that sweet summertime! In fact, if January just stopped being a month all together I would not mind one bit. I loath winter.

Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus: Hannah! I've actually been re-watching that show on Netflix for the last week. I probably should not be admitting that on the internet.

Shark Week or Fashion Week: I honestly don't care about either. Not even a little.

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or Saved by the Bell: Fresh Prince. I never even watched Saved by the Bell until like two years ago.

Britney or Christina: Brit Brit for sure. I like Christina just fine, but nobody beats B. Spears.

Burrito or Burrito Bowl: Burritoooooo! Anddd now I want some Guacamole Ranch. Thanks.

Reading blogs on your phone or reading blogs on your computer: My computer fo' sho. After college my computer kind of just sat in the corner and collected dust, and then I started blogging. That shiz is annoying with a capital A on my phone.

Angelina or Jennifer: "Jennifer, Jennifer, allllllll of the Jennifer. The woman is perfect. That is all." I'm just gonna go ahead and leave Whit's answer there because it is 100% correct.

Doug Funny or The Rugrats: Well, I'm leaning toward Doug because I recently watched Rugrats and my brain melted, but I was all about it when I was little so I might feel the same way if I watched Doug now. Can I just pick Pepper Ann?

An open mouth chewer or a heavy breather: Oh my gosh, just give me a cow chewing gum right now, because if you sit down next to me and start breathing like Darth Vader there's a really good chance I'm going to Ostrich-Punch you in the larynx. I can't even handle that.

Head over to the link-up and do your own This or That! Can't wait to see what you'd pick :)

Cara Box: August!

Happy Wednesday, friends! I am still adjusting to this new schedule/house/life, so things might be a little inconsistent around the blog for a few days. But I promised to show you my Cara Box today, so that's what I am going to do!

Not familiar with Cara Box? Basically it's a blogger (and non-blogger) exchange that gives you the opportunity to make friends and get presents! This link will explain it a little better.

This month I was paired up with Kara, who I sent a box to, and Jameson, who sent me a (super awesome) box! I loved getting to know both of these ladies. Kara and I had a lot in common, and she was so sweet. I really enjoyed picking out some fun things for her, and I even got my craft on a couple times! Go check out her box here.

Jameson was also wonderful.  She has such a joyful attitude and I loved getting to know her this month. She filled my package with so much fun stuff- definitely one of my favorite Cara Boxes to date!

She sent me:
  • A tiny calendar from Italy because I told her I like to travel
  • A cute little notebook that it PERFECT for in my car- I'm always needing to make notes and grocery lists!
  • Some very fun nail polish
  • A cute little tin with bobby pins in it- I LOVE THIS! It is so perfect, my mom even asked if she could have it!
  • Wine glasses
  • A crystal growing kit that looks so neat! Can't wait to try it out :)
  • little things that make your wine bottle tilt up
  • Some super cute coasters
  • NOT PICTURED- a bath bomb that smells SO good!
She also sent me a birthday car in addition to her letter (too darn sweet), and she packed it all in that super cute box which is perfect to store all my knick knacks in.

And wanna know the most exciting part? She said she forgot to put in something, so I get another surprise :) My first mail at my new house!

Okay, let's back track to those wine glasses.

Jameson made me an adorable set of glitter wine glasses! I was so excited when I opened them up, and I thought it was so cute that she matched the polishes to the glasses. My mom and I had a couple glasses of wine after the move, but the blue and green glasses haven't been used yet! So, who wants to come over for a girl's night? :)

My August Cara Box experience was so fun, and I can't wait for next time!

Cara Box

Now you want a package in the mail, right? Well good news! I want to invite you to join Influenster! Influenster is an interactive service that sends you free items in the mail to test and review! So far I've gotten a few boxes, but some of my favorite items were the Sally Hansen Nail Effects (love them!), a full-sized bottle of bath and body works body spray, delicious snacks, the Olay Fresh Effects system, and sea salt spray for my hair! (That last item I didn't end up enjoying, but at least I found out for free- I'd been wanting some for ages!)

It's fun, and completely free (my favorite), but the only bummer is that it's invite only. However, I have five invites to send out, so the first five people who comment or email me their email address will get an invite from me! :)

Don't you want a box of goodies?
