Homemade Dog Treats

Elsa had her first vet appointment yesterday (and I said goodbye to $100.90). She did such a good job and everyone just loved her. She had a basic checkup, got her rabies shot, and had a blood test to check for FIV and Feline Leukemia. She handled everything perfectly, and I was so proud of how well she behaved.

Elsa doesn't have a carrier yet, and so we borrowed one from one of my sorority sisters. To say thanks, I made some homemade peanut butter dog treats and wrote her a cute little note. I made half the treats into quatrefoil shapes,  the symbol of our sorority, and the other half into "polka dots," aka, I used a shot glass to punch out circles :) For the note, I wrote in hot pink marker "Dear Lily (the dog), Thank you for letting me borrow your carrier. I hope you enjoy the yummy treats we made you!  Love, Elsa"  I attached the note, the recipe (printed in pink, of course), and a baggie of treats all with a purple bow. It turned out really cute, I can't wait to give it to her :)

Unfortunately, my camera is currently broken so I'll add pictures later.

If you're interested in the recipe,  I found it here. You can find the same recipe in about a million different places, as well, so hopefully that means it's a good one! :)

Saturday Night Out

Last night during my lazy movie night I was craving cranberry juice so I decided to run to walmart. I opened my closet to grab a tshirt, but saw this sexy teal dress I bought a while back but haven't had a chance to wear and thought "...what the hell?" I put the dress on, a pair of heals, and headed to walmart for some cranberry juice and cat food :) I figured if anyone bothered to ask about my attire I'd tell them I was on my way back from a wedding; perfect plan. It was definitely silly, but it was nice to get all dressed up and to finally wear that dress; the event I bought it for didn't pan out and I haven't had a chance since.
Anyway, this is the dress:

The dress is a lot sexier on me, because I bought it a little small and I've gained weight, so It's tight, it's short, and it looks damn good. I love that dress :)

In other news, I'm really missing my boyfriend today. I could never date a guy in the military :) lol. I swear right here, right now that next summer we WILL be together. Unless he gets the job he wants. Le sigh. And then I won't see him for 6 straight weeks. I really do hope he gets it, he wants it badly, but I am so tired of having to be away from each other all the time. I want to just get married already. I crave that stability. Ohh well.

Well, I'm gonna cuddle with my Elsa-Bear. Goodbye :)

Rough Day

Today has been a really rough day for me. so I'm gonna do another list of ten, and then I am gonna post some pictures from when I've been happy, or things that make me happy.

Ten Things That Have Made Me Happy Today
(This will be a tough list)
1) Elsa was super playful this morning which is a first for her. It was a fun change of pace.
2) I wore Sam's pajama pants and shirt. Wearing his clothes makes me feel close to him. Silly, I know.
3) I found the first episode of season 2 of Drop Dead Diva online. It answered a lot of my questions :) Now Netflix needs to put season 2 up so I can watch them all!
4) Shaving.
5) It was nice to have the living room to myself for most of the day
6) I emailed Sam; I love talking to him in any form. Now I wish he'd email back!
7) Marty. I have him every day, but he really did make me happy today. I love him a whole lot for a beta fish :)
8) Waking up next to Elsa. That makes me happy every day. I love having a cat around so much.
9) There was a new episode of Good Luck Charlie up on Netflix. That was cool.
10) Between reasons 9 and 10 I got up to go to the bathroom, and Elsa followed me. Then she sat down and waited for me to finish, and while I washed my hands she jumped onto the side of the tub and waited, and then she followed back out to the living room. That made me happy. I love how much she loves us. She runs to the door to greet us, she always sits on our laps. She loves in the way some people think only dogs can. She makes me happy♥

Elsa makes me so happy. I didn't just want her, I needed her. I always said that if I had a cat the quality of my life would automatically improve, and it did. I love her so much.

Marty, my beta fish, makes me happy. He is just a fish, but he's been an awesome companion. It's nice to have someone in a dorm room, even just a beta fish, because dorm rooms get pretty lonely.

Sam makes me happy, so happy. I love him so much. He's been the best. He wants a girlfriend like him. Someone whose had a perfect life, who has no problems, nothing to cry about, someone just fun and happy all the time, but instead he got me. And he's the best when it comes to dealing with me. He's not always the best, most thoughtful man on the planet, but I can't count the times he's held me while I cried, talked on the phone with me in the middle of the night. He's one of the few rays of sunshine in my life. ♥

These are flowers Sam gave me before we started dating. In fact, they were yet another attempt at getting me to say yes. I didn't. And he probably asked several more times before I finally did. He hates the story of how we started dating, but it makes me so happy. I don't think there's any other man in the world, especially a man with options, who would chase after a girl, get turned down time after time, and never give up. His determination means everything in the world for him, and there aren't words to express my gratitude for what he did and dealt with. He was exactly what i needed.

The Hangover

So today, I am experiencing my first real hangover. I want to die.Normally I don't drink liquor because I know it doesn't agree with me in the morning, but last night I did, and I drank a pretty good amount. Boy am I paying for it now, Ughhh. I am curled up under my covers watching cheesy movies, chugging water, and eating french fries, and that is all I want to do all day. Well, until my spinning class later. Yuck.

Also, I've never been one to drunk text, but lately I've been embracing the art form. I should probably stop. Haha :) This is the text I sent to my boyfriend last night:

"SUNDAY NIGHT DRUNK LOVE YOU AND
MISS YOU SOOOO MUCH. POWER RANGERS.
NATE AND CARSON. Dustin friend's now! Party cat.
I love YOU so MUCH! Sam."

Uhh, embarrassing. And that Sam was not a signature. It was his name, as in "I love you, Sam." Yikes. Haha. Fortunately I never drunk dial anyone I shouldn't, usually just my sorority sisters, or this time my boyfriend. I sure am good at embarrassing myself, though! lol. I'm always smart when I drink, so no big deal :)

Anyways, I'm gonna go nurse this hangover some more. Love, Anonymous :D

Ten Things That Made Me Happy Yesterday

Sometimes when I have a bad day I make a list before bed of ten things that made me happy that day. Yesterday was a terrible day. I miss my boyfriend so much (he's working at a summer camp and we can't see or talk to each other often), I have family stuff going on, and the book I was reading made me pretty sad, among other things. The internet was out last night, but this is my list :)

1) I finally finished Mockingjay, and it actually turned out how I'd hoped.
2) I got to talk to Sam on the phone, even if it was only for fifteen minutes.
3) My precious kitty got to spend the night in my room for the first time.
4) Dinner with my sisters :) Love them.
5) Elsa used her litterbox twice during the day :) (She usually only goes at night)
6) I realized that her ribs are already less prominent than they were last Saturday when we found her.
7) I talked to my dad on facebook. I miss him.
8) My mom agreed to give me the money to take a spinning class
9) The bulletin board I made Sam :) I made it the night before but it looks really great.
10) The cable finally came back on and I got to watch The Nanny before bed :)

Some of the things on my lists are really simple (this is actually a good list) but I think that's kind of the point.  You force yourself to find 10 things that made you happy, even if they're silly, and even if it was only for a second.  It doesn't usually make my day any better, but it gets my mind off of the bad stuff. It's not that easy to think of ten things sometimes :)

P.S. In case you were wondering, this is my little princess who was mentioned in 3 of my ten things :)

Cats, Cuddling, and Carrot Cake?

First off, why Cats, Cuddling, and Carrot Cake? It's a running joke with my friends and I that these are the only three things I like. Of course this isn't true, but they are three things I really love. If you had to describe me and three words, those would be a good choice.

I LOVE cats, and everyone knows it. I wouldn't necessarily say that I like cats more than the average cat person, they aren't even my favorite animal, (my favorite is otters, although cats are my favorite domestic animals) it's just that when I am away at college I miss my cats so much. Smokey, Kitty, and Trouble are the lights of my life.

Cuddling. Who doesn't love cuddling? Well, this girl sure does! There is nothing in the world more relieving than cuddling up next to my boyfriend and bawling my eyes out. A woman needs that once in a while :) I'm also not a good person to sleep next to on a hot night, lol. When I think of getting married, the part I look forward to most is getting to sleep next to the man I love every single night. I just find sleeping with someone (as in snoring, not sexing) to be the most intimate, romantic, and special part of a relationship. I love it :)

Lastly, Carrot Cake. Well, when I originally made this list I was just craving carrot cake. But to be quite honest, I am always craving some sort of cake... unless I'm craving ice cream :) I also love to bake, or at least the idea of baking. I'm probably the least domestic woman in the world. I can not cook. But give me a pack of "just add water!" muffins, and I'll have a blast whipping those up!

So, there's a brief description of me and blog. Hopefully it will be interesting, maybe it won't, but I think it will be awesome to write on. Goodnight, Moon!
